How we work out your cost

Your miles become kWh
8,000 miles at 3.5 miles per kWh is about 2,286 kWh of charging a year.

We split it by window
90% at the off-peak rate, the rest at the day rate. Tell us if you charge more in the day.

Car charging only
The figure covers charging your car. The rest of your home's use is not included.

Common questions
Do I need a smart charger for these tariffs?
Not for all of them. EDF GoElectric and Octopus Go work with any EV and a standard charger. Intelligent tariffs need a compatible car or charger.
Are standing charges included?
No. Our headline estimate covers car charging only. Your household electricity use and standing charges are separate.
How often do you check rates?
Every tariff shows its checked date and source. Confirm the latest regional rates with the supplier before switching.
Do you earn money if I switch?
